Rutilated Quartz
Chemistry: TiO2 & SiO2 Titanium Oxide & Silicon dioxide Notable Occurrences include Minas Gerias, Brazil, Swiss Alps, Arkansas, and some African localities. Rutilated Quartz is quartz terminated by rutile, which is a needle like crystal with a wide color range, commonly yellow, gold, copper and sometimes silver. It is likened to the appearance of wheat straw and Angel Hair. The Rutile is said intensify the power of the Quartz. Repels negativity. Stabilizes relationships, marriages, mental processes and emotional & physical imbalances. Eases one who is in transition. Brings forth calm, reason, & order. Astrological signs of Gemini & Taurus
I have wanted a rutilated quartz for a long, long time. I finally found a stone in a beautiful shape with those shimmering rutile needles and broke down and bought it. After making this piece, I selected seven more stones, two of which are shown above. This stone is so much more beautiful in person that I even imagined. Light flashes through the stone onto the needles and it looks like shooting stars. It is just magical. I made this pendant for myself, but I will be making a few to sell once I receive my new stones. The above information about Rutilated Quartz was provided by Aura Shop. Visit them to find more information about gemstone properties.
